Murder in the Desert – World Net Daily and Jerome Corsi trying to influence Nicholas Corbett trial

It took Jerome Corsi long enough to come up with distorted “facts” concerning the Nicholas Corbett case, but in a piece erroneously titled Mexico accused of framing border agent, he seems prepared to put the case in the Court of Public opinion as he did for the case of convicted felons Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean.
Nicholas Corbett is on trial on second-degree murder charges in Cochise County Superior Court in Bisbee, Ariz., in connection with the shooting Jan. 12 of Francisco Javier Dominguez Rivera, a 22-year old illegal immigrant from Mexico.
But in all fairness to Corsi, not that he deserves any, the allegations come from Brandon Judd, vice president of U.S. Border Patrol Union Local 2544, of which Nicholas Corbett is a member and who is picking up all legal expenses for the outlaw agent.
And the allegations? The Mexican Consulate is taking care of all the expenses of three Mexican witnesses to the shooting so they can remain in the U.S. to testify against Corbett.
“The Mexican consulate is providing all three with food, housing, and clothing – everything these three individuals need, such that they don’t even have to work while they are waiting to testify,” Judd said.
That happens to be true and to that I would counter, “So what!” Better the Mexican Consulate take care of their needs than the Cochise County taxpayers were they to be held as material witnesses. Although anyone with half a brain can see the insinuation here. That the Mexican government is paying them for their testimony.
Well guess what people! They’ve already testified and their testimony did not differ one bit from the statements given to investigators on the night of the murder.
But here is where Judd goes off into the wild blue with Corsi hot on his ass.
Judd further charged that the Mexican government is intentionally hiding three other witnesses who could absolve Corbett.
“There were Mexican aliens who Corbett had arrested prior to the incident with Dominguez,” Judd explained. “These three witnessed the shooting from the back of Corbett’s Border Patrol van, and they could see clearly exactly what Corbett was doing.”
Judd said the two brothers and the girlfriend all testified Corbett was pointing a gun at them while he was driving, “yet the three aliens who were in the back of the van said they never saw Corbett holding a gun.”
“Those three witnesses who would have testified for Corbett got sent back to Mexico. Why?” Judd asked. “Why aren’t they still here in the United States when they have important information that could prove that Corbett did not do what the Mexican government and the other witnesses say Corbett did.”
Now here is where the bullshit gets to flying and Judd is playing to the anti-mexican crowd.
The Mexican government is not intentionally hiding anyone. There were three other people in detention in Corbett’s vehicle, but according to their statement to investigators, they saw nothing!
Let’s go back to an original article published in the Bisbee newspaper, the Sierra Vista Herald Review. On March 29, 2007, reporter Jonathan Clark published a 3 piece report on this case entitled BORDER SHOOTING: Three men in Corbett’s truck heard gunshot, but saw little
These are the three witnesses that Rudd accuses Mexico of hiding who could exonerate Corbett and their remarks.
Neither Felipe, Aurelio nor Miguel Angel saw the shooting, though they all reported hearing the shot seconds after Corbett left his truck. Miguel Angel stated that, in addition to the gun shot, he also heard a female scream. Aurelio heard someone make an “ugh” sound after the gun went off.
The three “witnesses” who were repatriated to Mexico on January 31, 2008 on a flight from Tucson, further went on to state.
Corbett reportedly told his supervisors that he shot Dominguez-Rivera because he threatened him with a rock. However, the three men in Corbett’s back seat denied seeing anyone with a rock.
“I asked Felipe if at any time he saw anyone from the second group pick up or throw any rocks,” Adney reports. “Felipe stated that he did not.”
None of the three men reported seeing Corbett holding his gun when he got out of the truck. They were not sure if he had been steering with one hand or two, or if he had been pointing his gun as he drove.
The surviving members of Dominguez-Rivera’s group, however, told investigators that Corbett was pointing his gun as he circled them.
Field tests by Adney and Sheriff’s Deputy J. Gjerde showed that views of the driver from the back seat of Corbett’s SUV were mostly obscured by a metal screen, although the person in the center seat, Aurelio, would have been able to see a gun if Corbett had extended his arm toward the passenger side window.
So in direct contradiction to what Rudd is alleging and Corsi is eagerly reporting, these three saw nothing that would exonerate nor aid in the conviction of Nicholas Corbett.
And Rudd knows this, so the natural assumption would be that he is engaging in lies and distortions with the aid of World Net Daily and Jerome Corsi, much in the same manner as was done in the cases of Ramos and Compean.
The Evidence
Brandon Judd goes on to make this erroneous claim in the article by Jerome Corsi.
“It is well-documented that this alien was shot because he was holding a rock and was threatening Corbett,” Judd pointed out. “But the probable cause statement picks up the coroner’s conclusion that there was no dirt on the hands or under the fingernails of the deceased. Yet what is left out is that the deceased was wearing gloves at the time of the incident, and this is very clear from the surveillance camera photos that exist of the incident.”
The truth is that the only documentation that the kid was holding a rock is from Nicholas Corbett. All the witnesses deny this “fact” or say they were not able to see any rock in the boys hand. I’ve always been curious about the glove angle, because this one piece is what is strange.
A glove was finally found near where the body was, during a second sweep of the crime scene. If the victim was wearing it, why was it and who removed it from the victims hand? And would particles of dirt and rock prove the kid was holding a rock? Probably not. If he had been wearing the gloves during the trek across the desert, it is a safe assumption that at some point during the trip, he would have used his hands against the ground for leverage.
And Rudd’s assertion that the glove is seen clearly on the victims hand is an out and out lie.
Here’s why, again quoting from a report from the Bisbee Arizona newspaper.
A grainy surveillance video shot from a Border Patrol camera tower two miles away that shows Corbett circle the Dominguez-Rivera party in his government-owned sports utility vehicle before exiting and dashing around the back of the truck. When Corbett reaches the group, a body appears to lurch forward.
A surveillance camera two miles away on the side of a mountain. Anyone seen this vid? I’ve seen similar BP vids and they are extremely difficult to make out any detail.
Judd further shows how out of touch with reality he is, or perhaps he is one of the small cadre of BP agents who believe the badge gives them the power of God.
udd argued that the bias against Corbett stems from pressure the Mexican government placed on authorities in Cochise County to prosecute Corbett.
“What discourages me and the rest of the Border Patrol agents is the influence the Mexican government brings to cause the prosecutions of these Border Patrol agents,” Judd told WND. “If it wasn’t for the involvement of the Mexican government, we don’t think these prosecutions of Border Patrol agents would be happening.
Blame the government of Mexico when all else fails. Yes! I imagine they do want justice for the murder of one of their citizens the same as I would hope the US government would want the same for one of theirs.
It seems to me we are constantly seeing articles where the US government is “interfering” in the affairs of other nations by demanding prosecution or extradition of criminals wanted in the US. What is the difference? But the inference that the government of Mexico has any influence in the Courts or Prosecutors office’s in the US is beyond ridiculous.
But, when you have a criminal who shoots a kid in cold blood and your options are limited, this is the kind of noise you make. And sadly, as in the case of Ramos and Compean, there are those amongst us who believe it and will try to make a “Patriotic Hero” out of this murdering piece of trash named Nicholas Corbett.
And what type of agent was Nicholas Corbett? what was his attitude? His professionalism when confronting a group of illegal entrants?
Felipe recalled that Corbett told them, in Spanish, to sit down. Miguel Angel, who reportedly understands some English, said Corbett yelled at them in English, telling them: “Sit down on your butts, motherf——!”
“Miguel stated that the agent seemed more aggressive with the second group, like he was angry,”
Is that how they teach you to apprehend a suspect in the academy? In the Air Force Security Police School, I don’t remember any of that being taught!
“On your butts motherfuckers!” Outstanding police work Agent Corbett!
And Jerome Corsi will continue to be on the side of these morons! Truly saddening.
