Or perhaps that is too strong of a statement because it disrespects a horse’s hind end.

Tom Tancredo, Colorado representative who tried to run a Presidential campaign on one issue, ridding the US of all Hispanics, while in the past he hired illegals to remodel his Boulder mansion amongst other things. This man is a hypocrite and a fraud.

Border mayors, Colorado lawmaker fight over ‘no border’ comments

Members of the Texas Border Coalition are sparring with Colorado Republican U.S. Rep. Tom Tancredo over his muttered suggestion that if politicians think a border fence will disrupt the region’s multiculturalism, the best place for it might be north of Brownsville.

Tancredo sent a letter to Brownsville Mayor Pat Ahumada and Eagle Pass Mayor Chad Foster on Thursday “clarifying” the comment, which came during a congressional field hearing Monday at the University of Texas-Brownsville, which could lose land to the fence.

Tancredo and U.S. Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-Calif., strong proponents of the fence, were at odds with Democrats on the panel who said the fence will be an ineffective blight for a region that thrives on social and economic ties with Mexico.

“Securing the border is not a local issue,” Tancredo wrote to Ahumada. “Local communities have expressed multiculturalist sentiment by suggesting that ‘there is no border’ between the U.S. and Mexico, and refusing to cooperate with federal authorities over the congressionally approved border fence.

“This is a matter of national importance, and the American public should not be asked to sit back and allow a handful of local governments and their friends in the ‘open borders’ lobby to exercise veto power over something that impacts not only our national security, but our national sovereignty.”

Ahumada and Foster responded Friday by accusing Tancredo of misquoting them and suggested Tancredo take Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff’s advice to “grow up.”

Chertoff made the comment during a January interview with the Associated Press. He was referring to critics of new documentation rules at border crossings.

“We have never said, ‘there is no border,’” the mayors wrote. “The Rio Grande … has been our border since the agreement to the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo. To ascribe that quote to us, even by inference, in your tirade is ridiculously juvenile.”

Their letter ends, “Best wishes in your post-congressional career.”

“Best wishes in your post-congressional career.”
That probably went over some of your heads. What they are referring to, and I am still laughing my ass off over this is that Tancredo, during his first campaign, he promised to only be a two-term Congressman. But, he lied! What new with that.

Tom the tool! e’s just another pathetic tool who abandoned his integrity to become a permanent, mediocre fixture in Washington D.C.

Pope Benedict in AmericaOn April 16, 2008, Lou Dobbs took his “advocacy journalism”1 to a new low in mischaracterizing Pope Benedict XVI’s recent visit to the United States.

False Claim: Pope Benedict supports “amnesty” and wants the U.S. to “ease any enforcement.”

DOBBS: Well, Pope Benedict XVI is in the nation’s capital tonight, there to help the Catholic Church and the Council of Bishops push the amnesty agenda.

Pope Benedict himself, obviously, supporting that approach and calling upon the United States to ease any enforcement of U.S. immigration laws.

The Facts:
The Pope, in fact, did not announce that he supports an “amnesty agenda,” nor did he call upon the U.S. to “ease any enforcement.” Pope Benedict’s actual statement from the White House that aired later in Dobbs’s program was:

As a nation faces increasingly complex political and ethical issues of our time, I’m confident that the American people will find in their religious beliefs a precious source of insight and an inspiration to pursue reasoned, responsible, and respectful dialogue in the effort to build a more humane and free society.

Pope Benedict has never supported any specific piece of American legislation, but instead has called upon the American public to engage in a rational immigration debate. Dobbs’s accusations have no basis in reality.

False Claim: Pope Benedict is anti-American

DOBBS: Also, Pope Benedict XVI meeting with President Bush at the White House, calling upon the United States to be more humane to migrants, as he put it. The Pope, obviously, considering the United States something less than its actual standing as the most welcoming country in the world to immigrants, legal and illegal.

The Facts:
Pope Benedict never suggested the U.S. was an unwelcoming country. The joint statement released by the White House states:

The Holy Father and the President also considered the situation in Latin America with reference, among other matters, to immigrants, and the need for a coordinated [international] policy regarding immigration, especially their humane treatment and the well being of their families.

Even while en route to the United States, Pope Benedict spoke to reporters of the need to treat immigrant families humanely:

The separation of families “is truly dangerous for the social, moral and human fabric. . . The fundamental solution is that there should no longer be a need to emigrate, that there are enough jobs in the homeland, a sufficient social fabric,” he said. Short of that, families should be protected, not destroyed, he said.

In Washington, Benedict encouraged the American bishops and their communities “to continue to welcome immigrants who join your ranks today, to share their joys and hopes, to support them in their sorrows and trials, and to help them flourish in their new home.” That, he said, was the American tradition.

Again, the Pope’s message has consistently been about reason and humanity, not secular details such as legalization or border fences. Dobbs also fails to mention how Pope Benedict repeatedly spoke of America in positive terms during his visit:

POPE BENEDICT XVI: I come as a friend, a preacher of the Gospel, and one with great respect for this vast pluralistic society. America’s Catholics have made, and continue to make, an excellent contribution to the life of their country. As I begin my visit, I trust that my presence will be a source of renewal and hope for the Church in the United States, and strengthen the resolve of Catholics to contribute ever more responsibly to the life of this nation, of which they are proud to be citizens.

Mr. President, dear friends, as I begin my visit to the United States, I express once more my gratitude for your invitation, my joy to be in your midst, and my fervent prayers that Almighty God will confirm this nation and its people in the ways of justice, prosperity and peace. God bless America.

Tancredo Chimes In
Lou Dobbs wasn’t the only anti-immigrant spokesperson to comment on Pope Benedict’s visit. In an attempt to overshadow previous controversies, like when he referred to Miami as a “Third World country,”8 or when he attempted to pull Spanish-language books off the shelves of the Denver Public Library,9 Colorado Representative Tom Tancredo issued this press release during the Pope’s visit:

“I suspect the Pope’s immigration comments may have less to do with spreading the gospel than they do about recruiting new members of the church,” said Tancredo. “This isn’t preaching it is ‘faith-based’ marketing.”

It is no surprise that the Pope’s call for “reasoned, responsible, and respectful dialogue” has offended Dobbs and Tancredo. As main contributors to the current anti-immigrant atmosphere in the United States, it is expected that they would attack anyone who calls for the humane treatment of immigrants and the need for reasoned debate on immigration.

What a pair of horses asses! And this is the face of the anti immigrant lobby!

It disgusts me to no end to hear slimeballs like Rep. Tom Tancredo (R-Co), pandering to the ultra right and using the death of Border Patrol Agent Luis Aguilar to push the agenda for the release of convicted felons and former Border Patrol Agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean.

Check out this trash!

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Representative Tom Tancredo (R-Co) today demanded a pardon of Border tom_tancredoPatrol Agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean after recent press reports of another Border Agent, Luis Aguilar, was killed in the line of duty.

“Border Patrol Agents risk their lives everyday to prevent illegal aliens, illicit narcotics and terrorists from entering this country,” Tancredo said. “It is time we pardon Ramos and Compean and send a clear message to potential smugglers that our Border Patrol will use any means necessary to prevent illegal border crossings.” Agents Ramos and Compean were sentenced to 11 and 12 years, respectively, for shooting a drug smuggler in the buttocks. The smuggler has since been caught smuggling more drugs into the United States.

Luis Aguilar, a 32-year-old father of two, was hit by a truck driven by a smuggler as he tried to place spike strips in front of the escaping vehicles. The vehicles made it back into Mexico.

Tancredo concluded, “The overzealous prosecution of Ramos and Compean has created a situation where border patrol agents now have to worry about being prosecuted and imprisoned for doing their job. In the ultra-violent world of drug cartels and human traffickers, even the slightest hesitation by law enforcement can be the difference between life and death. A pardon for Ramos and Compean would go a long way toward restoring confidence in our Border Patrol that this administration is on the side of law enforcement – not the Mexican cartels and the open-borders lobby.”

This is kind of like Jimmy Hoffa and the rest of the looney tunes using anything involving a Mexican truck as an opportunity to slam the cross border program and Mexico in general.

But while we’re on the subject of the death of Luis Aquilar, not surprising, it didn’t take long for the loons to come out of their holes and as usual, ignoring facts that don’t serve their opinions or purpose, came up with catchwords like “murdered” and “deliberate”.

I’m not in the least justifying the actions of the suspected killer of Luis Aguilar. Some news reports and eyewitness accounts of the incident suggest that Aguilar was killed when the Hummer swerved to avoid the spike strips being placed in the road. I imagine the last thing this smuggler had in his mind was killing a BP agent. But it happened.

Some of those amongst us who are least informed are demanding immediate extradition and the death penalty against Jesus Navarro Montes, who was arrested in the death. Get over it people! The best that can happen is life in a California prison without parole depending on the charges leveled. The death penalty is off the table because of the extradition agreement we have with Mexico.

And that agreement works. Both of our countries are exchanging bad guys on a regular basis. No longer is Mexico a safe haven for those on the run for crimes in the US.

Tancredo should be ashamed of using the death of this agent to push forward his on short sighted agenda. At least he’s out of the field for the White House. Duncan Hunter and Fred Thompson also.

Editor’s Note: This clown is a friggin nutcase! Why not tattoo ID numbers on their wrists, or perhaps “chip” em with an RID device. Hell, we already have “Kristal Nacht” style raids on home in the middle of the night! And this ass klown is running for President? Give me a friggin break!

Taking a page from the Europeans, Congressman Tom Tancredo today introduced legislation that would require DNA tests for foreigners applying to join relatives in the U.S.
The Colorado Republican, who is running for president on an immigration-control platform, contends DNA testing would make the country safer and reduce immigration fraud.
