HUD - No basis for illegal immigrant mortgage foreclosure data

The U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development says there is no basis to news reports that more than 5 million bad mortgages are held by illegal immigrants.

A HUD spokesman said Thursday his agency has no data showing the number of illegal immigrants holding foreclosed or bad mortgages.

Lou Dobbs - Blame it all on Mexico - Why Not!

Black Jack Lou Dobbs on his trusty steed Buttercup off to wage war with Mexico

Black Jack Lou Dobbs on his trusty steed Buttercup off to wage war with Mexico

For the past few years, Lou Dobbs has led anti-immigrant forces against amnesty, against illegal Mexicans, against Mexico, against his own government, and against the truth.

His rants have been less than truthful; once almost causing a panic in the United States when he brought forth on his show the issue of illegal Mexicans coming over the border infected with Leprosy, or Hansen’s disease, a chronic infectious disease which causes horrific disfiguration upon those who are infected.

Lou Dobbs lied to stir the American people to rise up against the Mexican people and he is doing it once again with the tomato issue.

The salmonella outbreak that has sickened more than 200 people recently is being centered on Florida or Mexico as the likely sources of the contaminated vegetable. But if left up to Lou Dobbs to decide where those tainted tomatoes came from, the Crusader appears to be comfortable with blaming Mexico.

UPDATED: San Antonio police find illegals in parked 18-wheeler

Authorities took a Smithway Motor Express driver into custody after several undocumented immigrants were found inside his 18-wheeler parked at a South Side convenience store.

Undercover drug officers stumbled upon the 18-wheeler during a drug investigation Tuesday night, when they pulled over a man during drug bust at a Shell Gas Station in the 5800 block of South Pan Am Expressway.

As police surrounded the man’s pickup truck, officers heard a noise coming from the nearby 18-wheeler and discovered seven illegal immigrants inside the cab of the truck.

A store clerk told investigators, the big rig had been parked at the truck stop since 10 a.m. on Tuesday.

It’s possible that the men and women were stuck in the vehicle as yesterday’s high flirted near 100 degrees.

Paramedics examined the illegal immigrants before they were placed in Immigration and Custom Enforcement custody.

The driver, who was just hired on May 6, is an employee of Smithway Motor Xpress Inc. based out of Fort Dodge, Iowa.

An official with the trucking company told Mexico Trucker Online that the driver is from Georgia and picked up a load in Del Rio.

This is more proof of what we’ve been saying for years. It isn’t the Mexican Cross Border participants smuggling in the illegals and drugs. Hell, that comes across the border in a different manner not associated with trucks. It is the “patriotic” American professional driver who thinks he can make a quick buck off the misery of others.

And this fool would probably have made it to his destination had he not made the extended stop in San Antonio.

Rascism Alive and Well in Mexico

Mexico’s President Vicente Fox is having a tough year.

During the much-publicized Minuteman Project in Arizona last March, Fox’s arrogant comments and dismissive attitude didn’t win him too many fans north of the border. Then in May, while making yet another speech about how America couldn’t function without illegal immigrants from Mexico, Fox managed to insult African Americans in the process. He claimed that illegals do the work that “not even black people want to do,” implying that African Americans make up the lowest rungs of society.

About a month later came the unveiling of Mexico’s latest series of postage stamps, featuring none other than a black character like something out of a minstrel show. Needless to say, Fox found himself on the defensive yet again — with good reason.

It turns out that racism in Mexico, both against blacks and dark-skinned indigenous Indians, has a long history. Mexico’s colonial past has left its mark on modern-day society. Prejudice toward “pureblood” Indians from those who are “mixed-blood” (Spanish and Indian) is rife. Almost uniformly, people who are darker-skinned and of Indian descent make up the peasantry and working classes, while lighter-skinned, Spanish-descent Mexicans are in the ruling elite. Fox himself comes from that background, as his appearance makes evident.

This inequality may explain in part why the majority of immigrants coming into the United States fall into the darker-skinned category. Beyond the failure of the Mexican government to sustain a decent economy, darker-skinned Mexicans have a difficult time getting work because of job discrimination. According to the Web site IndigenousPeople.net, “sixty percent of Indians over 12 years of age are already unemployed, and of those who work, most earn less than the minimum wage of about $2.50 a day.” The same story notes that Mexico City’s top restaurants don’t allow patrons to bring along Indian domestic workers for fear of tarnishing their business image.
