safer_logo.gifIf you haven’t looked at FMCSA Safersys database or have never heard of it, they now have the capability of checking the status of Canadian and Mexican carriers who have U.S. operating authority.

This has been around for some time now but just recently was the ability to check the status of a Mexican carriers authority, his safety statistic, including inspection and accident data, the status and amount of insurance coverage etc.

Needless to say, the same information can be obtained at this site for a U.S. registered carrier.

Once again, another bit of misinformation has been challenged and resolved on Mexico Trucker. And think of it this way. If you and I, normal citizens with internet access can obtain this information, it’s a no brainer that law enforcement has the same capability. Sorry “Officer Matt from KC”, the newest caller to the Steve Sommers show. If you can’t access data about the Mexican trucks and the drivers, perhaps it’s time for you to talk to your training officer
