OOIDA and LandlineNow join the ranks of conspiracy theorists

Further diminishing their relevancy in the world of trucking information, LandlineNow Blog is joining the black helicopter conspiracy crowd in suggesting the impending formation of a North American Union. How trite!

Call I-35 what you want to. If you’ve ever driven it, especially between Austin and Hillsboro Texas, you would know the need for a new and improved I-35. Let them call it what they want, but I look forward to it. Sadly though, we won’t see it in this generation. But it is needed.

    At the February ceremony, Gov. Gonzáles Parás took the occasion to make two other declarations that have not been reported in the U.S. media.

    In speaking to the group assembled at the Transportes Olympic headquarters, Gonzáles Parás announced the Trans-Texas Corridor was not just the NAFTA Superhighway, but the "Logistical Trans-Corridor of North America," uniting Mexico, the U.S., and Canada.

    Gonzáles Parás next announced that the time had arrived to declare a North American Economic Community.

    Gonzáles Parás explained the Trans-Texas Corridor was more accurately known in Mexico as the "Logistical Trans-Corridor of North America."

    "I want to let you know how much we in this border state of Nuevo Leon have been working with our neighbor state of Texas," Gonzáles Parás said, "making agreements which permit us to enrich what in Texas is called the 'Trans-Texas Corridor,' but what we in Mexico know as the 'Logistical Corridor of North America.'"

    "We – Canada, the United States, and Mexico – have to perfect this Logistical Trans-Corridor of North America for our mutual benefit," Gonzáles Parás continued.

    Gonzáles Parás expanded his vision of to include the construction of a train and truck corridor that would cut through the heart of North America.

    In his speech, Gonzáles Parás confirmed what WND has previously described as a new NAFTA Superhighway, the first segment of which is the planned four-football-fields-wide Trans-Texas Corridor which the Texas Department of Transportation plans to build parallel to Interstate 35.

    Explaining Nuevo Leon finds itself right at the center of this Logistical Corridor of North America, Gonzáles Parás said Mexico "must synchronize our truck and train systems of transportation and our maritime port connections" with those of the United States, anticipating the massive quantity of freight that will need to be carried from the ports in Mexico on the Pacific to the heart of North America.

    A report in the Mexican press added that Téllez also used the February ceremony to announce Presidents Felipe Calderon and George Bush had agreed to create "an economically integrated North America."

    Yes Keith conspiracy theorists. They allude to some sort of nefarious union between the three countries, the erasure of borders and one big open continent and that can never happen.

    You can call a road anything you care to call it or call it a road. It serves the same purpose. If it goes from one country to the next to the next, call it a Trans whatever. It's only a name and you must admit, our highway infrastructure needs an overhaul.

    I was coming out of L.A. the other day on I-10 bopping along and this passenger train passes me in the middle of the freeway. Like what the hell!!! I don't go into L.A. more than a couple of times a year and this was a surprise. I got to looking around me.

    They've built commuter train lines down the middle of the interstate. In addition, a high speed dedicated commuter bus lane. An HOV lane and 4 travel lanes in each direction. This setup is a Superhighway, super corridor or whatever you care to call it. What's in a name?

    Its funny to hear this talk listed as “conspiracy theory” – especially after the very “conspiracy” they refer to was described by Vincente Fox (former Mexican President) in his book “Revolution of Hope: The Life, Faith, and Dreams of a Mexican President.”

    An excellent book by President Fox. (And I don’t smoke pipes, I prefer a good Cuban cigar on occasion)

    I still stand by what I said. You take a bit of this, a little of that, a tidbit here, another morsel there, none connected, but you put them all together and come up with this grand scheme to merge the three countries.

    First,no one man from any of the three countries, can tear up the Constitution or Charter of that country which is what would need to happen to make this NAU become a reality.

    Secondly, they are talking about three sovereign nations working together to address the security, health of other concerns of the continent we share.

    Any other way of looking at it is an isolationist viewpoint.

    And the TTC or Nafta Super Highway or whatever you want to call it? What’s in a name.

    As the traffic increases, the infrastructure deteriorates, new and bigger highways will be needed. It’s nothing we’ll see in our lifetime and nothing that should worry anyone.

    Ooops, forgive me.. I forgot! It will connect to the Mexican border and with todays anti-hispanic hysteria, that is unforgivable.
