It has long been my policy, in life, as well as professionally to ignore idiots and nutcases who have the need to spout off about things they know nothing about, but today, I’m going to make and exception.
I’ve made no secret that for months, It’s been my privilege to be associated with a group of industry professionals who launched a new website for the professional driver called Lifeontheroad.com
The authors of this site are as diverse a group of people as our industry is. We all have our own website, blogs, forums which we maintain independent of lifeontheroad.com. We all have varying opinions on the issues and while we may not all agree at times, we are mature enough to agree to disagree and remain a tight group.
Lifeontheroad.com has been a success and continues to grow. Our topics range from NASCAR news to the economics of trucking to technology in trucking and of course, a little political commentary.
But one of our groups authors decided she couldn’t play by the rules. In other words, she is the type of person one dares not disagree with otherwise she goes into the corner and pouts like a child and then goes on the attack.
Renee Taylor has this nasty little habit of feeling the need to interject some catty little derogatory comment into her posts on LOTR, concerning Mexican trucks, illegal immigration or border security, without regard to what her post was about, and one days she was called on it. (91% of 35 respondents to a poll concerning Mexican trucks is not a majority of Americans) It was also noted that one of her husbands diatribes was published on a former Klan members website.
She went ballistic and began to hurl accusations against the owner of this website. Whether or not the article appearing on David Dukes website was scraped or not is irrelevant now. Her explanation that it was should have been the end of it, but of course it wasn’t.
She was asked to edit our her acerbic comments directed at me, by the editors of LOTR and the account manager overseeing the project and her response was to take the offending posts, and display it on their extremist website
The account manager overseeing LOTR admonished her and the rest of us to keep LOTR out of it. Of course, Renee Taylor refused and posted the copyrighted material from LOTR to several right wing websites such as Free Republic, I guess to elicit sympathy from others of her kind.
Then, in spite of the warnings, her husband, Mark Taylor, includes in his posts the appeal to email and call the sponsor of the site and the site itself, in protest. (It didn’t work. LOTR received exactly zero complaints)
And after a phone conversation with one of the bosses, where she told them “Shut up when I am talking to you”. she was removed from her position of trust on LOTR. And she wonders why!
Renee Taylor has an obvious problem with the truth interfering with her opinions and a person who word means nothing! She has proven this with her conduct on LOTR and her continued efforts to undermine and destroy the collaborative efforts the rest of us have put into the site.
Attacking Mexicotrucker.com and it’s owner
There are many measures of success and credibility to a website. In the case of Mexicotrucker.com, Success has comes to this site through the 217,000 hits the site has had this year. Credibility comes from interviews with OVERDRIVE magazine which had our comments in the November issue. It comes from national recognition from middle of the road talk show host Mike McConnell. Credibility also comes when editors of industry publications use this website as one source of information when writing about the cross border program and ask this authors opinion on related subject matter.
Another measure of success and credibility, which I am not too happy about, is when the success of this website causes others to change the direction of their content in an attempt to discredit Mexicotrucker.com. Reports of drug shipments being seized? That shows the CBP and ICE or doing their job, as we report here. There is never any question drugs cross the border. But our government with the help of Mexico interdicts and astonishing amount. Instead of discrediting MT, it only enhances the credibility.
Personal attacks on the owner of this site are in the bag of tricks of the trailer park trash from south Arkansas. Claims that the owner of MT is a porno peddler, which I am not! They persuade their friends to put up free and anonymous attack sites directed at me and MT, which have no relevance and are looked at with pity and scorn by the few who visit them. They deny association but their names and marks are all over them.
This is the latest post and again, a violation of her signed and verbal agreement with the company who controls LOTR> An attack? C’mon! Nobody but their small group of “whitey righty’s” care one iota about this pathetic attempt at spreading their propaganda with what passes for a presence on the web. Instead, she uses it to attack the editor of LOTR and publish emails ( one cannot be certain they are originals) in an attempt to justify her position. Once again, Renee Taylor has proven her word is not to be trusted.
Taking the high road!
With this being said, I fully expect the attacks to continue and at some point, they will cross the line and be held accountable. But until that time, I will once again take the high road and ignore these fools and their malicious attacks. Attacks that for no other reason come because Mexico Trucker continues to publish the truth, expose the hypocrisy running rampant in American society.
One thing to be certain of. Mexico Trucker will not be intimidated nor or we going away. We’ll continue to be here to meet the challenge head on from whatever quarter it comes from.
