Now, it is time for the US (and Canada) to step up the efforts on the open border and alligned trade policies that will once again lead the western hemisphere toward an economic path to world trade where everybody wins. When any of the world leaders revert back to the old ideas of protectionism, or worse, isolationism, we all suffer. We can never return to those ideas without risking the economic health of the entire world. We have all seen how the US economy affects every other country in the world. It's a geo-political world, now. When some are suffering, everyone suffers. Closing our minds to that fact only delays progress toward world prosperity and world peace.
