Collision with tractor trailer kills 6 returning from Christmas vacation

A family returning to the United States after spending Christmas with family in Guanajuato and San Luis Patosi, were killed when their vehicle collided with a tractor trailer on Mexico 85 south of Nuevo Laredo.
Federal Police said the 2005 Chevy Trailblazer driven by Everardo Aguilar Rodríguez, 43 was being driven in excess of 160 lmh (100mph) when the driver colided with the rear of a tractor trailer pulling a flatbed. The driver apprently fell asleep at the wheel.
Also killed were his wife,María Teresa Rodríguez Chávez, 40; sons David, Gabriel and Daniel Aguilar, 13, 10 and 7 years of age and a nephew, Pedro Rodríguez, 15.
The authorities continually urge drivers to respect the speed limits and not to drive when tired or drowsy, sometimes with little success.
