On September 24, 2008, the USDOT Office of Inspector General issued an audit report entitled REPORT ON THE SCOPE AND METHODOLOGY OF FMCSA’S REVIEW OF CANADIAN/MEXICAN COMPLIANCE WITH FEDERAL COMMERCIAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARDS.

Of course OOIDA jumped on this report with an article erroneously entitled Data flawed on Mexican truck safety reg compliance A glance would make you believe that Mexican trucks are not in compliance with FMCSA safety regs and this is not the case!

Steve Sommers on America’s Trucking Network told his few listeners that this report PROVES that Mexican trucks are not in compliance and, by the way Steve, thanks for the mention of the website here. That wasn’t too hard was it! But he wanted his listeners to feel vindicated by their beliefs that Mexican trucks don’t meet US standards. Again, Steve didn’t bother to read the report. Or, maybe he did and this was his way of continuing to spread his misinformation about Mexican trucks

So many extremist groups today claim to be America’s Voice or the Voice of the working American when in reality, they are nothing more than Klansmen of old in leisure suits.

In Truth,America’s Voice is people such as me and you, tired of the lies and the pompous posturing of those who use the Immigration debate to fill their hip pockets and spread their peculiar brand of hate.

We’re coming upon that time of the year when they have what seems to be becoming an annual affair, called “Hold their feet to the fire” or some silly ass name. Remember last year when Steve Sommers of America’s Trucking Network went to Washington to smooze with the bigots?

So who is behind this and who are they? Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) has insinuated themselves into the extremist movement and proudly proclaim that they are the ones the media and Congress come to when answers are needed about the Immigration debate and possible solutions.

FAIR is bringing people to visit Congressional offices to discuss immigrants and immigration policy. As Members of Congress and their staff prepare to meet with FAIR supporters, you should know some key facts about the group’s origins and leaders. Did you know that:

• The Southern Poverty Law Center has named FAIR a “hate group.” The list of other groups which have earned this distinction from SPLC include: the Ku Klux Klan, the American Nazi Party, and the Aryan Nations. (Link)
• FAIR was founded by a supporter of eugenics, John Tanton, with funds from the Pioneer Fund, a foundation committed to the belief that some races of people are genetically and intellectually superior to other races. Tanton continues as a leader of FAIR and sits on its board of directors.  ( Who else believed this? Wasn’t it a gentlemen by the name of Adolph?)
• FAIR employed and continues to employ known anti-Catholic bigots, including Rosanna Pulido, who said of the Catholic Church in the United States:
  What better way to fill your pews and fill your offering coffers than with inviting in and giving sanctuary to illegal aliens? . . . What is being passed off right now by the Catholic Church is not Catholicism. It has nothing to do with Christianity or the Bible.(Link)
  
  And FAIR Executive Director Dan Stein went further, targeting Latino Catholics:
  Certainly we would encourage people in other countries to have small families. Otherwise they’ll all be coming here, because there’s no room at the Vatican. . . . Many immigrants hate America, hate everything the United States stands for. Talk to some of these Central Americans. (Link)

Pima County Administrator Chuck Huckelberry has found that Pima County Public Defender Isabel Garcia didn’t violate any policy by protesting at a controversial event.

Garcia was present at a protest over Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s July 10 book signing at a local store. Video of Garcia holding the severed pinata head with Arpaio’s face on it has been widely distributed on the Internet

Garcia is a member of Coalición de Derechos Humans, which organized the protest.
Huckelberry’s memo, which was released Monday, states that “no disciplinary action is warranted in this matter.”

More than 400 members of the Juárez police department will be dismissed after failing confidence exams done by the Mexico federal Public Safety secretary’s office, Juárez Mayor Jose Reyes Ferriz said.

About 2,000 soldiers arrived in Juárez over the weekend and are expected to begin anti-crime patrols as part of Operation Juárez, the new name of Joint Operation Chihuahua, the local federal offensive against organized crime.

“It’s important that citizens know the Mexican army will be doing patrols throughout the city to stop the collateral crimes generated as a result of Joint Operation Chihuahua,” Reyes Ferriz said.

The city police department has offered the military 65 vehicles for the patrols.

The city has recruited about 900 new officers in recent months as authorities have been unable to stop a crime wave this year, including more than 900 homicides, more than 50 bank robberies, a jump in auto thefts and other crimes.

Officials said the confidence exams by federal authorities found that some Juárez officers had criminal histories in other states. Some had been fired from other agencies.

Other officers were found to have been bribed or had ties to organized crime.

Reyes Ferriz said that federal public safety officials made a registry of fingerprints, DNA samples, voice and iris scans of the officers tested to allow federal authorities to track their future activities.

How can this be? In a country, according to Dale “The Trucking Bozo” Sommers and his son Steve and of course Eric “Bubba Bo” Boulanger, that has no DATA BASES to track Mexican Truck Drivers and others? They are compiling a DATABASE of DNA Samples, Voice prints and iris scans, biometrics in other words? Kudos to the Mayor and Federal Officials for their ongoing efforts

The latest wave of sick and perverted hatred from the nativists who seem to control elements of talk radio comes in the form of Jon Justice a wannabe talk show host on 104.1 The Truth, an FM talk station in Tucson Arizona.

It began with a rally against Maricopa County Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio stepped up enforcement of Federal Immigration laws while ignoring the real crime occurring in his jusrisdiction.

The protestors, with Isabel Garcia of Coalition of Human Rights Arizona in attendance, beat an effigy of Sheriff Joe. Ms Garcia was videotaped picking up the head of the pinata a carrying it aloft through the crowd. For this, the right wing neo cons and nativists have begun a campaign of slander to have her disbarred as an attorney in Arizona and a member of the Public Defenders Office. I guess the right of Free Speech only works one way.
