World Court says US defied order in death row case

THE HAGUE, Netherlands—The International Court of Justice has ruled that the United States defied its order when authorities in Texas last year executed a Mexican convicted of rape and murder. The U.N.’s highest court said the U.S. is still obliged to review the cases of about 50 other Mexicans on death row because they were denied access to their consulate after they were arrested, as required by an international treaty. The court in its ruling Monday rejected Mexico’s request that Washington provide guarantees that no further executions will be conducted without a reconsideration of their cases. The U.S. argued that ….Read More

Interesting comment found on a so called “Patriot” website. You know those people who think everyone who disagrees with them is un-American and a “traitor”, while they, with their hateful rhetoric defile the true meaning of what a “Patriot” is. Here’s the comment (exactly as posted, misspellings and all) I am going to have some t-shirt made locally. On the front in the national colors of Mexico, green, white and red sez, “MEXICO” in large letters. below in smaller letters is sez “BAD NEIGHBOR” then in smaller letter it sez no habla english, mordida and corruption and etc. ON the ….Read More

Barack Obama said, “I will open the doors of government and ask you to be involved in your democracy again” Who wants to take the challenge and work for viable change in America? Here is a good beginning! The problem: Many American students graduate from college and high school each year, and face a roadblock to their dreams: they can’t drive, can’t work legally, can’t further their education, and can’t pay taxes to contribute to the economy just because they were brought to this country illegally by their parents or lost legal status along the way. It is a classic ….Read More

Murder in the Desert - Judge declares second mistrial

Despite overwhelming evidence pointing to the guilt of Border Patrol Agent Nicholas Corbet in the murder of Francisco Javier Dominguez Rivera, U.S. District Judge David C. Bury declared a mistrial at 1345 today. More on this breaking story as it becomes available. The prosecution has not indicated whether it will try a third time. In the meantime, this embarrassment to Federal law enforcement is free to take the law into his own hands as he sees fit!

Maricopa County Attorney Andrew Thomas interfering with functions of Mexican Consulate in Phoenix

Maricopa County Attorney Andrew Thomas on Thursday lashed out at the Mexican Consulate in Phoenix for depositing money in the jail accounts of nine people arrested last June in an immigration raid at a valley water park. Thomas called the deposits – which are not illegal – an instance in which “The Mexican government is trying to come in and undermine American law, Arizona law in this case, in relation to illegal immigration.” Mexican Consulate officials released a statement that said the office has the right to assist Mexican citizens who are in the United States. That includes lending financial ….Read More

Gustavo Arellano: My dad, the illegal immigrant

Millions of Americans point to Ellis Island as the place where their family was first introduced to the United States. Others trace their ancestry to ships that dropped anchor centuries ago in New England. Still more greeted Lady Liberty by way of airplanes and a visa. My father? He fondly remembers the comfortable space in the trunk of a Chevy Bel Air that was his ticket to the American dream. In 1968, Dad left his dying village of Jomulquillo, in the Mexican state of Zacatecas, to join his three older brothers in East Los Angeles. Eighteen years old, impetuous and with ….Read More

So many extremist groups today claim to be America’s Voice or the Voice of the working American when in reality, they are nothing more than Klansmen of old in leisure suits. In Truth,America’s Voice is people such as me and you, tired of the lies and the pompous posturing of those who use the Immigration debate to fill their hip pockets and spread their peculiar brand of hate. We’re coming upon that time of the year when they have what seems to be becoming an annual affair, called “Hold their feet to the fire” or some silly ass name. Remember ….Read More
