"Illegal de facto Exemptions" for Mexican Trucks? Never happened!

We’ve seen over the past couple of years where the Teamster’s and OOIDA have jumped all over the spectrum trying to find garbage they can hoist upon the unsuspecting public regarding the Cross Border Pilot Program. But we’ve never understood the stupidity of the claims OOIDA has made about illegal exemptions for the Mexican fleet, because, according to the data, and the way the program was structured, there were none. The recent letter that OOIDA sent to Ninth Circuit requesting a ruling on their long running lawsuit before that Court, and how they once again, “stretched the truth” to get ….Read More

Ninth Circuit Rejects OOIDA lawsuit over Cross Border Trucking Program

The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals today dismissed a lawsuit filed by the Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association against the Department of Transportation in connection with the Cross Border Demonstration Project. The court ruled the lawsuit was moot because Congress recently ended the program. OOIDA immediately went into whining mode the ruling, but the association said it had faith that Congress will continue to place a high priority on the safety and well-being of the American public. (Make that read we will continue to bombard Congress with lies and misinformation to push our agenda) OOIDA contends the trucking pilot program had ….Read More

Stolen Canadian Plane Invades US Airspace - Pursued by USAF F-16's

While the loons have had our attention focused on the southern border using their fear tactics of imminent invasion by hordes of cartel members, Hazbollah, Al-queda and anything else they can think of to stoke our fears, a stolen Cessna 172 crossed into US airspace from Canada, and made it all the way to Missouri escorted by a pair of F-16 Interceptors. In Missouri, it landed on a highway in Elsinore Missouri and the pilot fled on foot only to be apprehended by Missouri Highway Patrol officers. Mike Kucharek, spokesman for the North American Aerospace Defense Command in Colorado (NORAD), ….Read More

USA TODAY COUNTERPOINT - James P. Hoffa repeats the same tired propaganda.

In a counterpoint to the excellent opinion USA TODAY offered entitled Mexican truck ban hurts U.S. exporters, consumers, Teamster’s President and chief blow hard James P. Hoffa offered his same old, tired, debunked opinions For those new to this site, I’m going to highlight the lies, exaggerations and totally untrue claims of Hoffa. In his counterpoint titled Keep Mexican trucks out Hoffa claims, NAFTA is a bad trade deal for many reasons. It cost millions of U.S. jobs and lowered wages for average Americans. It has also threatened to undermine highway safety. The Teamsters Union is strongly against opening the ….Read More

OOIDA Delusions Part II - "Cross-border trucking pilot program was flawed"

“Cross-border trucking pilot program was flawed”, so goes the continued rant of OOIDA Executive Vice President Todd Spencer in an opinion piece in todays Kansas City Star. Not true of course, but what has Spencer and others said about the program that has been true? And let’s not mince words or use polite euphemisms to cover up the truth of the matter. Coming from Spencer’s lips as usual are more of his lies that are contradicted by the facts. The following is a breakdown of Spencer’s propaganda attempt in the Star and the truth of the matter. LIE #1 The ….Read More

OOIDA Mark Reddig tells you his delusional version of "the truth"

Mark Reddig of OOIDA has been well indoctrinated by the leadership of the association who for years have had a problem revealing the truth about Mexican trucks since the facts interfere with their exaggerated spin. But today, on his blog, Mark Reddig is going to tell his version of The truth of Cross-Border Trucking that no one else will tell you Of course Reddig wouldn’t know the truth if Jesus Christ came down from the mount and delivered it to him in laser etched stone tablets. Once again, it falls to this site, expert in the Mexican truck issue to ….Read More

Rep Peter Degazio's response to the Mexican tariff's

This is what we elect to represent us? Rep. Peter Defazio D-Or responded to Mexico’s tariff’s resulting from the Obama administration shutting down the Mexican Cross Border Program by calling Mexico’s action “illegal”! According to an article in Landlinemag.com Defazio made this baseless claim. “These tariffs are illegal and should be treated as nothing more than political gamesmanship. Mexico has no legal grounds to implement any of these tariffs. Even if there was a legal basis for the tariffs, the $2.4 billion price tag is a disproportionate response, and the 90 U.S. products targeted for tariffs were illegally selected,” DeFazio ….Read More

Supreme Court rebuffs Ramos and Compean - And that is, the rest of the story!

Now that the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals has upheld the convictions (with a small adjustment) of Ramos And Compean and the Supreme Court has refused to hear the case, perhaps people will begin to see these two for what they are. They’re not criminals in the sense that we see criminals, but they did knowingly break the law and with the commutation, received appropriate sentences, but they remain two convicted felons, rightfully so. Their stupidity lead to their being charged and convicted. And probably without any willful criminal intent in the beginning. But they are not “Brave Patriotic Americans”. ….Read More

[HR-1611] Bill introduced in Congress to Amend FY09 Omnibus Appropriations Bill

From the most unlikely of corners, American heroes and Patriots emerge. Rep. Jeff Flake , R-Ariz., introduced legislation March 19 (HR 1611) that would restart the pilot truck program. He said that would bring the United States into compliance with NAFTA. “It defies logic that the U.S. would risk a trade war during a recession with our third-largest trading partner just because we refuse to allow less than 100 trucks from Mexico into the country,” Flake said in a statement. He also sent a letter to President Obama offering to help him put the program back together. Obama has said ….Read More
