Editor’s Note: This clown is a friggin nutcase! Why not tattoo ID numbers on their wrists, or perhaps “chip” em with an RID device. Hell, we already have “Kristal Nacht” style raids on home in the middle of the night! And this ass klown is running for President? Give me a friggin break!
Taking a page from the Europeans, Congressman Tom Tancredo today introduced legislation that would require DNA tests for foreigners applying to join relatives in the U.S.
The Colorado Republican, who is running for president on an immigration-control platform, contends DNA testing would make the country safer and reduce immigration fraud.
Says Tancredo:
This will help protect the integrity of our immigration system. It will give us one more tool to make sure that the beneficiaries of these visas are who they say they are.
But the ongoing experience in France suggests Tancredo’s legislation could be highly controversial.
Although French President Nicolas Sarkozy supports the DNA testing, which is in final negotiations in both houses of parliament, it has provoked an outcry – and opposition within his own Cabinet. Sarkozy’s urban affairs minister, Fadela Amara, has threatened to resign over the toughening of French immigration laws.
French supporters note the testing already is permitted in 12 other countries in the European Union as a voluntary measure in contested immigration cases.
Tancredo’s bill, which would require mandatory testing, is unlikely to find any traction in the Democrat-controlled Congress.
