Hmm, I just ran across Jimbo Hoffa’s snide little attack on his website a few moments ago, and was not surprised to see the sniping, character assassination , and belittling comments that have become the cornerstone of his rhetoric. You can read it here if you have the stomach for it.

In addition to his the above, he continues to throw out his lies, lies because he uses them in the face of the facts.

She must also know the program is illegal. The law says Mexican trucks have to meet specific U.S. safety standards. They don’t. No drug tests for drivers, no restrictions on hours behind the wheel, no ability to inspect every truck at the border, no accurate records of valid drivers licenses.

The law says it and the Mexican trucks meet and sometimes exceed the U.S. Safety standards. Drug test for drivers? We’ve been over that. As a condition for earning the Licencia Federal and for cause, when determined by a Federal Officer or company official.

Restrictions on Hours of Service. Another lie from the lips of Dumbo, er, Jimbo! HOS is governed by the Secretary of Labor and it is established. We covered that on another section of this site.

Yet another lie! Mexico has LFIS, a reflection of the US database LFIS.

Inspect all trucks? Yes, we have the ability to visually inspect all 15 trucks authorized under the Demonstration Project at the moment, and to further inspect them if the visual shows a defect. And the drivers! Each and every Mexican driver crossing the border has his papers checked. No exceptions.
