The Trucking Bozo spews!
Sep 1, 2007 Talk Radio
Anyone care to know what the increasingly irrelevant and cranky Dale Sommers aka “The Trucking Bozo”, one of the best known Mexican haters, has to say about the Mexican truck program? Probably not! As I said, he is really an irrelevant little man.
After listening to him and Lesley Miller talking yesterday on his show. Her using all the little buzz words like “junk trucks from Mexico” and Bozo dutifully agreeing with her, I can envision him sitting at his desk writing the following, the incontinence so bad, the box of DEPENDS close at hand. A troubling image. But here’s his remarks from his WEBSITE I got a good laugh out of it. Perhaps the rest of you will also.
The Congress of the United States has made it abundantly clear that they do not want Mexican trucks having free rein on US highways.
One should ask the congress, “WHY IN THE HELL DID YOU EVER PASS THE DAMN NAFTA AGREEMENT ANYWAY?”
You knew from the git go that Mexico(aka-HellHo) would not follow the rules, they would not put in a CDL testing program, they would not require driver training, they would not put together a database of all CDL holders so that American law enforcement officials could check and see without a doubt that the name and photo on the license were the same as that which was on the computer. I think that the only camera they had in Mexico for taking photos was broken when the agreement was signed in the mid nineties and no one in Mexico ever bothered to repair it.
If the FMCSA and the Dept. Of Transportation allow trucks across the US Border I fully expect thousands of truckers to descend upon the Mexican border and block access to the USA.
I only hope that if this does happen that there will be no violence and if you do decide to do this and the police tell you to pull your truck to the side of the road and lock the truck, ‘your going to jail’. Do it. Do not argue. Go to jail. Bond will be a minimum and you’ll probably be released as soon as ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, MSNBC, CNBC, FOX and every other news source in the world shows up to get satellite photos of why law abiding truck drivers are being jailed by the hundreds, if not thousands. This kind of media will over shadow the gay senator from Idaho and every other issue in America and it will finally show the American people that there is a real problem, just as the water cannons and attack dogs that were attacking Black Americans in the sixties awoke the American conscience. You must remember, America is not aware of your problem, only the trucking industry is, so now is the time for awareness. Show the people what kind of injustices you have to endure every day of the week and most of all, join hands together as brothers and sisters, no matter what color you skin is and take an oath that there will be no violence but that they will be plenty of Civil Disobedience.
God Bless, May tomorrow be a better day, but it’s up to each and every one of you.
Dale Sommers Truckin’ Bozo
All I can say about this is; Block the border, You WILL go to jail! That is a certainty. And don’t think bond will be a minimum. It will be for Federal as well as State charges. Have you ever heard of the “PATRIOT ACT” and Department of Homeland Security? Better study up on it. You will be arrested the same as you would be if you performed a nationwide work stoppage, as this “Bozo” (pun intended) has warned you about in the past. And now he is urging you to show “civil disobedience”? I would only hope that most of you would use your common sense instead of listening to this relic of another era push you into something you regret.
I’ve also heard a few CB Rambo’s describing what they will do to a Mexican truck and it’s driver if they see one on the highways or in a truck stop. A word of caution here also. Don’t do it! You will go to jail people and if a pattern of this develops, you could very well be made an example of and charged with a “Federal Hate Crime”! Think about it. Is it worth throwing away your future, a few years of your life in a federal pen, just to show your buddies how tough you are and what a true blue Amerikan “Patriot” you are? I think not, but it’s your life. And for what? For something that will have no effect on you or your job?
The truckers that will participate in this program are not one damned bit different from you, except that they speak a different language, primarily, in addition to English. They do the same job, under the same conditions as you and I. They have families who love them and look forward to their return home, just like you and I.
Something to think about people. Use your heads and don’t let these old fools and their sons do your thinking for you.

I hope you can answer a question. How much does one of these trucks cost? I’m arguing with someone who cntends that the trucks will be used to smuggle humans, drugs or even *gasp*, bombs. My arguement is that a legiti, ate trucking company, such as those involved in the program are not going to risk their investment by engaging in illegal activity.
To be honest, I find the whole arguement that Mexican truckers are drug runners, terrorists and human smugglers to be racist.
By the way, I’m not involved in the trucking business at all, I don’t even know any truckers. I am an American expat who has lived in Mexico for 13 years.
Thank you.

The cost of one of these trucks is about equal to a similar one in the U.S., perhaps 10% more in cost. Unlike a similar truck purchased in the U.S., a tractor purchased in Mexico usually has a shorter wheelbase, a smaller sleeper and fewer driver amenities. This first two is because of the weight issue where Mexican rigs have legal GVW’s of over 100,000 pounds compared to a max GVW of 80,000 in the U.S.
In addition to the initial cost of the truck, there is of course the 10% IVA tax, you have outrageous registration fees to various agencies and if the trucks are to be part of the Pilot Program, there is the added expense of U.S. insurance.
The arguement these trucks will be used to haul drugs and illegals is ludicrous and simply not true. It is another piece of misinformation the opposition is throwing out there to scare the public into sharing their point of view. In addition, “bombs”? They’re playing the ultimate fear tactic, the terror card!
If you could see the protocol the border shuttle trucks go through each time they bring a trailer across the border to be picked up by an American carrier, you would understand the stupidity of this argument.
I was coming to work the other day using the Colombia bridge and there were at least 100 Mexican rigs waiting to go through the process. I asked the CBP official at the gate how many,in his opinion, of the trucks crossing the border brought illegals and drugs. His reply? “Very few and those that try are caught”. The press releases from CBP and newspaper articles bear this out. He went on to state “Why would they even try when they have all the open range land to walk the stuff across”. Another logical assumption. And the truth.
Drugs are piggybacked across or brought across concealed in cars, most of which are caught. They are consolidated in “safe houses” on the border and then willing truckers and four wheelers are found to take it north for a fee. Most of these are caught. The loads that get through, do so with the help of corrupt CPB officers.
This is not my opinion, this is the facts as reported in newspaper articles from one end of the border to the other.
A Mexican transportation company, in the same manner as and American or Canadian company, is not going to take the risk. It simply will not happen.

Thanks!
Yes the bomb thing is pretty farfetched. I don’t think even the drug smugglers and the coyotes would knowingly get involved with terrorists, they are making plenty of money and I doubt that terrorists can pay enough to make it worth it.
It’s pretty sad to see all these accusations against Mexican truckers, as if they were the scum of the earth.
I’ve been seeing threats on the internet against the Mexican truckers, talk about running them off the road or beating them at truck stops. I hope it is just talk.

There was an article written last year which concerned what you mention. It was about the fact that while the cartels were at war with each other on the border, they were also policing who came and went because as the reporter stated, it is in the best interest of the cartels that nothing like you mention happens because in the event something of this nature occurred, we’d see the border sealed so tight that the cartels would be out of business.
I’m sitting here in Alpine Texas at the moment listening to Bubba Bo on XM-173. The theme of the America’s Trucking Network should be “Listen to us, and FEAR for your jobs”! But Bubba Bo is allowing some of these morons to insinuate violence against these guys.
Some of these idiots may try to do something but I think the majority of truckers in the U.S., seeing an incident, would step in and try to stop it.
I would also hope that something of this nature would be labeled a “hate crime” under Federal Statutes and prosecuted as such.
We’ll have to wait and see.
