WND- Twisting the truth as usual
In another disgusting attempt to twist the facts to fit their agenda, Jerome Corsi published this piece trash on his site today, titled, Jailed border agents case tied to Mexican trucks the insinuation is that all Mexican truckers are drug smugglers.
I reviewed once again, the trial transcripts of Ramos-Campeon and discovered what Corsi is referring to, and once again, his facts are twisted.
Under cross-examination from Ramos’ defense counsel Mary Stillinger, Aldrete-Davila reversed his testimony, admitting he had two commercial drivers licenses and that one of the licenses, which authorized him to transport hazardous material, was valid until 2013.
The testimony of Aldrete-Davilla makes reference to a “commercial license” although the typeof license is not specified. It does not at any time make a distinction of the Licencia Federal de Conductor. Nor does it specify anything about hauling hazardous materials, instead, mentioning a permit to enter the facilities of PEMEX, the national oil monopoly. What type of access is never mentioned and it appears Mr. Corsi, in his continued effort to put fear before the facts, assumes, this was a Federal Commercial License. According to trial testimony, the Court sustains objections to the presentation of these alleged documents because they have not been officially translated.
You can read the testimony for yourselves in Volume 8, pages 49-59. This is only another efforts of the opponents to put fear into the minds of people ignorant of the facts.
Aldrete-Davilla, did not, apparently possess a Licencia Federal Conductor license, but only one permitting him to perhaps operate in the State of Chihuahua. Access to PEMEX could have been granted for any reason. For the purpose of cleaning or maintaining the premises or whatever. That line of questioning was never pursued.
But Mr. Corsi takes the opportunity to put out more bald faced lies. Lies that are contradicted by fact and law.
That a drug smuggler such as Aldrete-Davila could hold a Mexican commercial drivers license is proof that Mexico has no reliable method to screen the previous criminal records of commercial drivers who might get certified as “trusted traders” under the Security and Prosperity Partnership definition of FAST lanes designated for use in the Mexican truck DOT demonstration project.
Lie number 1,001….. Once again Corsi brings up his ludicrous illusion of a North American Union. FAST (Free and Secure Trade) is not being used for the Pilot Program. Carriers permitted under the Pilot Program are not authorized to haul haz-mat.
The problem is that Mexico maintains no reliable national criminal database or driving history database against which the FAST identification applications or OP-1(MX) commercial drivers’ license applications can be checked.
More deliberate misinformation. OP-1(MX) has nothing to do with a commercial drivers license. It is the form used to apply for Operating Authority by Mexican Carriers. Nothing more. It has nothing to do with MCDL’s, FAST applications or anything else.
And perhaps Corsi’s biggest lie yet.
Yet Mexican trucks continue to be the principle way Mexican drug cartels transport drugs into the U.S.
How do drugs come into the country. In the manner that Aldrete-Davilla tried to bring them in. Hidden in personal vehicles and brought through Customs lanes where CBP officvers on the tak, wave them through.
And what happens to the drugs then? How are they transported into the interior of the U.S.? Why in American trucks driven by American drivers of course. Fools who think hey can make a quick buck, but are usually caught before they get 30 miles north of Laredo as these two turkeys were this weekend.
These two turkeys were busted at the 28 mile check point over this past weekend. The blue truck? A Swift lease truck. The other, nice, but both the property of the government now, as are the drivers of these two rigs. What were they carrying? Who knows. Drugs or illegals.
And we have the final erroneous claim by Mr Corsi.
Yet, as WND has previously reported, the FMCSA plans to utilize SPP-developed FAST lanes relying on electronic checks that will allow Mexican trucks to enter into the United States in as little as 15 seconds, without any physical inspection of their truck trailers or shipment containers.
All trucks entering the United States pass through U.S. Customs border inspection facilities which include radiation screens, physical inspection of the drivers documents and U.S. Visa. The trucks are checked by dogs trained to detect human or other illicit contraband and if suspicions are aroused, the trucks can be directed to a secondary inspection dock where the truck is unloaded and cargo visually inspected.
But once they clear Customs, 2500 feet past the Customs compound, is the Texas DPS inspection facility. There, all trucks are weighed, documents inspected , drivers quizzed for English proficiency and trucks visually inspected for obvious defects and CVSA stickers.
But it is not over yet. As they go north, they have the CBP checkpoint at mm28 and more of the same.
So no Mr. Corsi. It isn’t the Mexican trucks bringing the dope into this country. But it is the American drivers looking for the quick buck who moves it north.
