Mexico Trucker Online

I’ve been thinking for several weeks of which direction Mexico Trucker will go when the border is finally opened to Mexican trucks and our carriers are allowed access to Mexico. There is no doubt in my mind that this will be happening, sooner, rather than later.

From the beginning, Mexico Trucker has endeavored to present the truth about the Mexican trucking industry amidst all the antagonists and opponents of the measure who have constantly used misleading and deliberate misinformation to drive their point of view home to the American Public.

Others have relied on anecdotal evidence and outright lies to press their point. Mexico Trucker has presented first hand proof to the contrary to contradict these lies.

On June 8, 2007, FMCSA published results of their PASA’s (Pre Authorization Safety Audits) of Mexican carriers desiring authority to operate in the United States. In this document, they also listed all the requirements the Mexican carrier would be required to comply with. These requirements mirrored closely what we have been reporting on this site for almost a year. The FMCSA vetted the information contained within this site.

So after all the effort and time I’ve devoted to this site, where do we go from here? Mexico Trucker will continue to monitor the program, and call to task those ignore or try to circumvent the rules. I am all for safety and there is no room for error in this regard, by either side.

Mexico Trucker will also provide a means for all truckers, to report unsafe acts, threats, cabotage violations, for those who care to report these things, and forward them to the appropriate authorities.

Based on my personal observations of Mexican truck drivers within the Republic of Mexico and those already operating on American highways, I don’t think we’ll be seeing many problems. And I don’t thing we’ll be seeing the violence against our Mexican brothers that many have been jawing about in the truck stops and on the overnight radio programs. Why do I say this? My truck has Mexican signage on the side concerning our Mexico operations and nobody to date has given it a second look. Let’s hope it stays that way.
