Mexico Trucker Online

News - Politics - Immigration - Trucking - Truth

People do pay attention

It was quite a surprise and pleasure to open my email today and discover a message along with a press release from a very nice lady in the FMCSA.

It seems the FMCSA has been following this blog for some time now and hopefully our efforts here will have a positive impact on the implementation of the Mexican Pilot Truck Program.

Again, as I was listening to the America’s Trucking Network last night with Steve Sommers, the misinformation campaign was in full swing. It has gone beyond any concern for safety or security. Now, they are calling for President Bush’s impeachment for implementing something we agreed to years ago. Some are even calling for the ouster of Congress using American troops and accusing our elected Representatives of treason. This is not concern for highway safety nor economic security nor does it have anything to do with the terrorism card they like to play. This is racism pure and simple and and outrage amongst us who look at the situation with a logical and practical mind.

And people, the Demonstation Project or Mexican Pilot Truck Program, call it what you will, has nothing to do with illegal immigration nor the debate over the immigration reform bill.

The Canadians are here and none of the hype and hysteria that proceeded the opening of the northern border has occurred. And people, 145 Mexican trucks in this country amongst 1.5 million or more American rigs, will not be noticed, nor will there be an impact on jobs, safety nor freight.
