Like a whore on a street corner, Wanda Piety and her Save America Fund continues to spew vitriolic filth and lies about the Mexican trucking industry, while soliciting funds (her main reason to be involved) through her website.

1.American Drivers are drug tested regularly–Mexican Drivers have no drug test!

Mexican truckers are tested as part of the licensing procedure. They can also be tested for cause anywhere by any LE official and be required to submit to a random medical exam if the officers finds cause.

2. American Drivers are given background checks–Mexican Drivers have no Data Base to check Backgounds.

Mexican drivers are subjected to a more rigorous background check than their American counterparts. It is part of the licensing procedure. Not only are Federal databases checked, but references from local Police Chiefs are required. Besides, American drivers are not required to have “background checks” in the context asserted here unless they apply for a haz mat endorsement. Companies are however required to collect 10 years past employment history on drivers, 3 of which is checked.

3. American Drivers driving records are kept and checked regularly–Again no Data Base in Mexico.

Apparently Ms Piety (that name kills me. Nothing Pius about this person) has not heard of or bothered to research LFIS, the Mexican Federal Drivers database.

4.American Drivers are finger printed and criminal records checked every 4 years–Mexican Drivers, once again no Data Base.

American truckers are fingerprinted once, under Federal Haz Mat rules, and criminal records checked in order to qualify for a haz mat endorsement. Otherwise, there is no requirement for a criminal background check unless the carrier requires it. Again, Mexico is well equipped to check backgrounds of it’s citizens.

5 Americans Drivers, in accordance with the Hours of Service Laws, can only drive 11 Hours, then They must take a 10 Hour break—The Mexican Drivers have no Hours of Service Laws, so they have been driving no telling how long before they even cross the border, and then keep right on driving across our States with no sleep, and probably drugs to keep them awake!

Once again, my argument against this claim is the human body can only sustain itself without rest for so long. Also, the border is not open 24/7 so a Mexican trucker arriving at the border after closing, would be forced to wait and sleep until morning. In addition, most of the Mexican trucks will be beginning their trip from a terminal in a border city such as Nuevo Laredo or Cd Juarez and thus should be well rested when they cross the border.

6 American Drivers specialize in the movement of Freight to keep America’s shelves stocked. Mexican Drivers specialize in any Contraband, or whatever pays the most, for example: Drugs, Illegal Immigrants, and of course, what if the Terrorist need a way to get in here??? Muslim extremists are currently recruiting Mexicans to do their terorist bidding in America. Terrorist can easily get trucking jobs in Mexico, and can carry load of weapons, explosives, and terrorist personnel into America, with no worries of DOT inspectors stopping and inspecting their rigs.

Ms Piety needs to read the FMCSA latest addendum as published under rules established by Congress. Mexican truckers are no different from truckers anywhere in the world. They do not haul drugs or illegals. Those that try, the border shuttles are quickly caught by CBP. And of course, what argument by the extreme right would not be complete without throwing the weary “terror card” into the mix. To date, there is no evidence of terrorist infiltration on the southern border. And Muslim Extremists recruiting Mexicans in the U.S? What space ship did this floozy fall out of?

7 American Trucks are held to a high standard with maintenance on the trucks which is checked regularly to make sure they are in good running order and not a hazard on the highway. Mexican Trucks have no maintenance rules, and we do not have the man power to check all these trucks as they cross our borders!!

We have the manpower as is being demonstrated daily on the southern border. There is no difference in maintenance between the Mexicans or the Americans. If anything, the Mexicans are more conscience of the maintenance needs of there equipment as mechanics facilities are not as readily available on the road in Mexico as they are in the U.S. Many Mexican trucker do much of their own maintenance. There asses depend on it. Consider too, with the price of fuel as high as it is, many American companies are taking shortcuts that could impact safety.

These people need to get the facts before they make the argument. But then this person does not care one iota about highway safety. She is simply making a statement to rip off the American public with her Save America Fund
