Mexico Trucker Online

News - Politics - Immigration - Trucking - Truth

They Drive at night.

I found an interesting article on a website of questionable character today, WorldNetDaily. I call it questionable because it is a website that has nothing to do with trucking. The owner has no vested interest in the trucking community and what passes for news is hard to find amongst the google ads and clickbank ads disguised as news stories.

I refer to this article.PREMEDITATED MERGER
Truckers demand feds come clean on Mexican rigs
DOT apparently pressing ahead to allow in U.S. despite measure passed by House

What people choose to ignore is that the FMCSA has complied with provisions establishing this program and all the ranting and raving by people like Todd Spencer of OOIDA are merely smokescreens to force through their agenda.

Todd Spencer, executive vice president of the Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association, the OOIDA, wants an official statement confirming or denying reports the controversial program will commence July 15.

But guess what people; The Mexican trucks are here!!!!

WND has reported the White House has pressed forward with the Mexican truck test despite the apparent scrambling DOT and FMCSA have made to answer objections from the trucking industry, from Congress and from the public over the test since the initial Feb. 23 announcement.

The past several weeks, coming out of Laredo, there have been a number of Mexican owned and operated trucks traveling north towards San Antonio from the border, well outside the 20 mile exclusion zone.

Nothing about them would catch your eye. Freightliner Centuries, surprisingly from Mexican line haul companies and not from subsidiaries of the U.S. mega carriers as I suspected would be the case when this thing began.

The trucks look to be well maintained, although nothing special about them. Typical late model line haul equipment of the type seen all throughout the interior of Mexico.

So get over it people. The Mexican trucks are rolling and they are not causing anyone any concern at this point.

A side note though. Mexican charter and tour coaches have been permitted access to the United States for the past 5 years and hold an outstanding safety record. Think about it.
