Steve Sommers returns and the crap keeps flying

Steve Sommers returned from his Idlebuster sponsored cruise to Cozumel Saturday and was back in the saddle Sunday night.

I found it interesting as he was recounting parts of his trip, he recalled standing on the balcony in one of the Mexican ports of call and watching the Coca Cola and Sol beer trucks make deliveries to the ships in port. And strangely enough, he didn’t say anything about “junk” Mexican trucks. Only about these rigs pulling double 48 foot trailers. (Sorry Stevie, 45 footers)Â So it would be safe to assume he has seen what I see constantly in my travels.

“Big Ed”, one of the organizers of the Oklahoma City rally and a frequent caller to the show called in and had his panties in a snit, as usual. Whining, crying and ranting about how the Mexican trucks would be coming here with 3, 4 or 5 drivers in one truck and going back with one. And of course, Steve Sommers sitting there agreeing with him.

You see people, this is my problem with this issue. It is not whether they come or not. I could care less. With ot without them, my job will remain the same. My employment security will be solid. They are not a threat to me nor anyone else.

My problem is people cannot find a valid argument against the Mexican truckers coming into this country and back it up with facts. Instead, they are allowing their hidden and not so hidden racial prejudices to come to light and it clouds their judgment.

UPDATE:  Looking at Steve Sommers web page on 700WLW, I guess I was right was again.  Don’t be seeing any junk  Mexican trucks here!View from the ships balcony
